Practice Manager - Mental Health and Wellness Team

Pay Rate: £41.57 per hour
Waltham Forest Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Manager to join their Mental Health and Wellness Team - North. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to lead, manage, and inspire a team while delivering high-quality, legally compliant social care services.
Role Responsibilities
1. Supervise and lead staff: Provide professional supervision and management to qualified and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
2. Caseload management: Oversee a complex caseload, including safeguarding cases, risk assessments, and care planning.
3. Collaboration: Work directly with adults and older people, partner agencies, and other professionals to support and promote good practice.
4. Safeguarding and risk management: Act as a lead for safeguarding, investigating complaints, and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
5. Process improvement: Contribute to the development and delivery of improvements in processes and procedures within the team.
6. Innovative practice: Employ creativity and expertise to manage uncertainty, assess needs, and empower service users to take considered risks.
Key Skills and Experience Required
1. Qualifications: Degree in Social Work or equivalent and registration with Social Work England.
2. Experience: Significant post-qualifying experience in children and families or mental health settings, with expertise in managing complex cases and safeguarding.
3. Knowledge: Deep understanding of care planning, prioritization, risk assessment, and culturally responsive service delivery.
4. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences in challenging situations.
5. Leadership: Proven experience in managing and supervising teams, providing guidance, and promoting best practices.
6. ICT proficiency: Competent in using Microsoft applications and other relevant systems.
