About the Role:
Enhance employee relations, strengthen performance management systems, and support growth, accountability, and engagement across the organisation. Oversee all HR operations for the full employee experience/lifecycle, providing expert guidance on complex matters, regular reporting to our ELT, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be a strategic partner in driving the HR function within our organisation, focusing on enhancing employee relations and performance management.
* Oversee all HR operations, including providing expert guidance on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes.
* Foster a positive workplace culture and ensure that HR practices align with our organisational goals.
* Implement and manage performance management systems that promote employee development and accountability.
* Ensure team and managers' compliance with employment laws and best practices.
About You:
A person of mana and integrity who is able to inspire and build a positive team culture to deliver a first-class HR service to the Council. Requirements include:
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management.
- Significant experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and coaching and developing managers.
- Sound understanding of HR compliance requirements and relevant legislation, including the Employment Relations Act.
- Experience in leading HR initiatives during organisational change, including mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
- Demonstrated awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusion of Te Reo Maori in relevant settings.
