Job Description
A renowned infrastructure business based in London Victoria is seeking a Construction Lawyer to support its legal team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction lawyer looking for a high-impact role within a well-respected organisation.
The Role
Working closely with the business, the successful candidate will provide commercially focused legal advice across a range of areas, including construction, corporate, commercial, and procurement. The role offers a broad and varied workload, covering both transactional and contentious matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial, construction, and engineering agreements.
2. Providing strategic legal advice on procurement, commercial contracts, and corporate transactions.
3. Managing disputes and contentious issues, ensuring risks are effectively mitigated.
4. Advising on acquisitions and disposals, supporting the business in key transactions.
5. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, working closely with the Company Data Protection Officer.
6. Reviewing, drafting, and updating policies and standard form contracts as required.
7. Delivering or facilitating legal training, particularly within the Procurement Team, and supporting the development of the wider legal function.
Key Requirements
1. Strong experience in construction law, ideally with familiarity with NEC and other standard construction contracts.
2. Broad legal expertise across commercial, corporate, and procurement matters.
3. Experience in dispute resolution within a construction or infrastructure environment is advantageous.
4. Ability to work autonomously and provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice.
5. In-house experience is beneficial but not essential.
