A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Legal Administrator based in our Edgware office. The role will involve assisting with Litigation matters. This particular team enjoys a high volume and variety of instructions from businesses throughout England and Wales.
No day is the same in our Litigation Department and we are looking for someone who is proactive, strives to work in a fast-paced environment and is not afraid of being an integral part of the business.
Ideally, you will have some experience working within a similar role. However, applicants who are enthusiastic about joining the legal profession in an administrative role and are keen to learn, are also welcome to apply.
The role will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
You will be required to provide a mixture of administrative and legal assistance and, under supervision, work on a variety of litigation matters.
Litigation
1. To provide high quality support to the firm’s Litigation fee earners ensuring cases are managed and progressing successfully.
2. File opening in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
3. Creating the terms and conditions of business for each individual client as well as the initial letter to client outlining firm’s procedure.
4. Setting up meetings in person, telephone or video link with guidance.
5. Managing the departments diary ensuring all key dates are diarised in accordance with the firm’s procedure.
6. Attending and supporting at client meetings (if required).
7. Taking detailed and accurate contemporaneous notes of meetings, conferences and hearings (if required).
8. Typing and amending attendance notes, letters and other documents as required.
9. Preparation of trial bundles and indexes (both paper and electronic).
10. Filing documents at court/serving documents on the other side/its solicitor.
11. Assisting with disclosure.
General
1. General office and administrative duties.
2. Updating clients as to general progress made.
3. Dealing with ad hoc enquiries raised by clients in relation to the management of their file.
4. Communicate confidently with all parties including client, court, experts, clerks/counsel and the other side by correspondence and telephone.
5. Photocopying/scanning.
6. Banking.
You will need:
The ability to work well within a team as well as independently. Being proactive and having a keen eye for detail are all important to the role. A willingness to learn, develop and be an integral member of the team are also essential qualities. You need to be confident communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of clients and businesses.

Pay: £23,000.00 per year
