Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS) provides fund administration services to the world’s leading hedge funds. MSFS has around 1300+ professionals globally, with 700+ employees in India. Our offices are located in New York, Dublin, London, Glasgow, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hong Kong.
The Product Development (PD) function within MSFS is the change & transformation think tank that works with the fund services business to establish overall strategy and priorities for technology products and platforms. The current opening is for the Client Computing Solutions (CCS) Team, which develops tools to resolve complex business problems that are overwhelming and error-prone if handled manually by front-line colleagues.
The CCS Team seeks a candidate with skills in programming and databases, a keen interest in process optimization, and a structured approach to problem solving. The business environment is complex, requiring deep analysis followed by end-to-end automation. We are seeking leaders who can enhance the organization's performance by applying creativity and utilizing familiar and new tools in the marketplace. The candidate’s responsibilities will span almost all facets of MSFS, working with various groups on such projects.
What will you be doing?
1. Liaise with executive management & business users across locations to understand/document business requirements, detail use cases & propose solution options.
2. Design & develop a flexible and scalable solution.
3. End-to-end ownership of the tools built for client processes.
4. Envision scenarios and incorporate them into the solution.
5. Own deliverables across the automation journey to ensure proper documentation & analysis of use cases and scenarios.
6. Create & manage project plans, proactively call out risks & issues, report progress against the plan & track associated project benefits.
7. Create training plans & provide training to team members & users as needed.
8. Ability to wear multiple hats including but not limited to Business Analyst, Developer, Project Manager, Tester & Business User.
Qualifications:
What we’re looking for:
1. Relevant engineering or finance degree or equivalent certification such as CFA is preferred.
2. Demonstrated programming/coding skills in any one language such as VBA, Python, SQL or equivalent.
3. Demonstrated interest and skills in technology and process management.
4. Knowledge of databases, database concepts, and ability to handle large datasets is a plus.
5. Strong project management skills with the ability to take ownership & lead projects independently with minimal supervision.
6. Ability to work as part of focused globally distributed teams in a complex matrix environment.
