This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or developing manager to join Wirral Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), to support the clinical leads and coordinators in managing various elements of the MHST project, including the development and implementation of our newest MHST that will be working with 8 secondary schools. Applicants will have experience of planning and developing team functioning activities, including HR and budgeting. They should have demonstrable project management skills, with experience of successful completion of projects, and managing high performing teams who deliver services successfully and to a high quality.
Mental Health Support Teams in schools are a government initiative aimed at providing high quality, low intensity evidence-based support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. A good level of understanding of the initiative is expected.
Ideally, this is a permanent part-time post.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to work with a wide range of multidisciplinary professionals and demonstrate a high level of communication skills in various environments, such as reporting to NHS England at regional and national meetings, induction of new staff, meeting with neighbouring services and partner agencies, providing line management supervision to staff, and managing recruitment and budget processes while being involved in service development.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a health or social care qualification
* Post-graduate level nationally recognised course relevant to the post
* Evidence of actively consolidating professional experience through continuous professional development
* Evidence of leadership course/training
* Recognised management qualification to level 7 or equivalent management experience and training.
Knowledge and Expertise
* To possess specialist knowledge across a range of relevant procedures underpinned by theory
* Knowledge of social and care health legislation and ability to apply knowledge appropriately.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Project management and implementing change
Experience
* Substantial demonstrable experience in a mental health setting
* Experience of managing a multidisciplinary team or service
* A number of years experience at band 6 or equivalent showing leadership, supervision skills
* Experience of planning and organising complex activities or programmes requiring formulation and adjustment.
