Cardiology Secretarial Assistant - Band 2
The Cardiology Department at ULHT is seeking to recruit an experienced, highly organised support secretary to provide an efficient service to the Consultants, Nurses, and the Medical secretary team. This role is based at the Lincoln County Hospital.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will require a high level of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.
Please note this position is not due to start until April 2025.
Main Duties of the Job
* Assists and supports the medical secretaries in providing an efficient medical secretarial service for the clinical team.
* Assists and supports the medical secretaries in achieving targets including CQUINs and validation.
* Assists and supports the Elective Access Clerk to provide an administrative service to the patient, which supports the achievement of nationally and locally agreed access standards.
* Provides cover for colleagues in their absence to maintain service levels.
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience in an office environment.
* Some knowledge of medical terminology.
* NHS experience.
Qualifications
* Typing and/or Word/Text Processing Skills.
* GCSE English Grade C or equivalent.
* Text Word processing & audio skills to RSA II or equivalent.
* 4 GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent.
* Business Admin NVQ II or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
* Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload to achieve deadlines.
* Good written and verbal communication skills; ability and confidence to communicate at all levels.
* Competent Microsoft Word user.
* Awareness and knowledge of the dignity in care agenda; ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework.

Salary: £23,615 per annum (£15,113 pro rata).
