OPERATIONS MANAGER
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client is the UK’s leading provider of electrical safety services, specifically inspection and testing of fixed installations. They deliver fixed wiring Inspection and Testing programmes, nationwide, for many blue-chip companies and public sector organisations. The business has vast experience across a variety of industries and working environments, from education through to manufacturing and production sites.
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for all aspects of the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the Surge (Protection Devices), Installation and Maintenance Division. Through diligent and proactive management, ensure that the annual turnover budgets and profit targets are achieved. Ensure that a meaningful P&L report is produced on a monthly basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume full responsibility for the management, planning, logistics and execution of all surveying, maintenance and installation works. Oversee the invoicing/financial process and work closely with the financial department to ensure the production of a meaningful monthly P&L report. Competently manage a team of field engineers, office-based planners and administration assistants.
Work closely with the Sales Director to ensure that the installation and maintenance resource meets the requirements of the current/projected secured orders.
Plan, forecast and report on sales, costs and team performance according to the agreed targets on a monthly basis. Closely monitor and manage all operating costs and office overheads affecting the profitable performance of the department.
Ensure that all site-based activities meet with the Company requirements for health, safety, environmental, legal stipulations and general duties of care. Liaise on a regular basis with the company Health and Safety officer. Following completion of the works, ensure the timely production and issue of all relevant documentation to the client/end-user.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership and teamwork qualities at all times and competently work unsupervised, prioritising workload in a busy environment reporting to the Surge Director on a ‘need-to-know’ basis.
Ensure all activities that form part of the role are undertaken in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance process and procedures. Identify any risks and implement any necessary corrective preventative measures to ensure business continuity.
Ensure that a non-adversarial, non-confrontational and professional approach together with a professional appearance and manner is presented to colleagues and clients at all times. Maintain the highest level of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment and maintain and develop the corporate image of the Company at all times.
Demonstrate initiative with regard to improving any processes, procedures and systems managed under this role. Be committed to improving personal performance and ensure that any personal training requirements are discussed and agreed with the Surge Director via the Company appraisal process.
Ensure the department remains competitive by equipping employees with relevant knowledge and skills. You’ll work towards ensuring every team member has the tools and training necessary to perform their job successfully and contribute to the company’s goals.
Building strong relationships with key clients is essential to ensuring long-term business success. You must have the ability to build a rapport and maintain open communication as this will be pivotal in nurturing repeat/return business.

Our client are offering 55K Circa
