Job Overview
ISR International School on the Rhine is a private, coeducational school catering for students from Kindergarten through to Grade 12. The school operates a non-selective admissions policy and has an enrolment of over 1000 students with more than 60 nationalities represented in the student body.
The ESL teacher will be expected to create and deliver engaging lessons that captivate students' interest and foster a deep understanding of the core concepts within the realms of the English Language and Literature. This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge, but also applying innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging, student-centred English lessons for learners of varying levels and backgrounds, including beginners (A1)
* Assess students’ proficiency levels and learning objectives to create personalized lesson plans.
* Utilize innovative teaching methods to enhance language acquisition.
* Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement and confidence in English skills.
* Adapt teaching strategies to support students in developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities.
* Maintain clear and open communication with students to ensure their learning needs are met effectively.
* Stay updated on best practices and resources for second language acquisition.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proficiency in English at a native or near-native level.
* A recognized qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent).
* Proven experience teaching English preferably to learners of diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
* Flexibility and creativity in lesson planning to cater for individual student needs.
