Job Title: Support Worker Job Location: Lonsdale House,Walsall Salary: £11.84 Contract type: Permanent Working hours: 28 hours per week, rota over 7 days including weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and on occasions wake in shifts (Please note we do NOT offer sponsorship) About the role Work as part of a team and support the manager and senior to deliver Care and Support service outcomes, to act as a mental health support worker, developing and managing care and support plans, actively engaging with customers to promote independence and choice, supporting customers in making decisions about their life. To provide specialist interventions within a customer`s care and support plan in line with areas of expertise Promote customer empowerment; support customers to help them express their views and make informed choices and decisions in respect of specialist care and support plans, complaints, concerns and compliments, how services are delivered and managed, the maintenance and repair of the buildings and equipment, activities at home and community engagement. About you You must be caring and empathetic with our customers, understand their needs and be respectful of their wishes. Build relationships with Residents, which are open and two way Support Residents to undertake their daily routines Establish methods of communication with residents, reducing barriers when necessary Accurately report and/or record work activities Support with activities of daily living & personal care Assist residents with mealtimes where necessary. As Support Worker, you will ideally have: Experience working within a Care environment (Advantageous but not essential as full induction training will be given) A warm hearted, friendly manner, patience, kindness and good communication, a willingness to help others, requiring patience An open and honest character, respectful and celebrate diversity, connect with colleagues and residents to celebrate uniqueness The ability to be a natural care giver and someone who can communicate in an open and honest manner with your colleagues, residents and their visitors a level 2 Health and Social care qualification About us We are GSA, we provide affordable homes and services that create a foundation from which people in our communities can thrive.
