Quality Inspector – Large fabricated products
Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing and engineering, seeks a meticulous Quality Inspector with expertise in inspecting fabricated and welding products to ensure the highest quality standards across complex projects in the nuclear and oil & gas sectors. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of manufacturing quality inspection, inspection test plans (ITPs), and dimensional geometric and conventional inspection tools (tapes, mics, verniers).
If you are a Quality Inspector who wants to train up on Welding Inspection they are willing to invest in training to gain further certifications (potentially CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2)
Key Responsibilities:
* Travel to perform supplier site inspections, ensuring alignment with approved ITPs and compliance with welding standards. They work will a range of suppliers in the North
* Collaborate with client inspectors and manage quality inspection activities across the supply chain.
* Conduct in-depth reviews of drawings for weld details and manufacturability, create and monitor weld maps and schedules, and support in-house welder qualification maintenance.
* Develop and maintain internal weld matrices and procedures.
Requirements:
* Dimensional Inspection experience using a range of tools – Gauges, Tapes, Callipers, Mics, Verniers
* Able to read fabrication drawings
* Security clearance eligibility is required; the employer will provide necessary arrangements if needed
* Nice to have but not essential - Familiarity with MPI (PCN Level 2) and paint inspection is advantageous / PCN Level 2 UT / CSWIP 3.1
