We are looking to recruit a Registered Manager for our private fostering agency client.
Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases.
Main duties include:
1. To maintain the company's successful Independent Fostering Agency retaining at minimum the Good Ofsted rating achieved and proactively developing the service to achieve an Outstanding rating, in accordance with relevant legislation, procedures and policies.
2. Ensure the successful delivery of the service and demonstrate to Ofsted how you have taken into account the National Minimum Standards for fostering services and the Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations Volume 4: Fostering Services in order to inform your strategic plan and registration.
3. Developing staff and carer recruitment strategies and delivering these successfully ensuring retention is maintained.
4. To oversee the recruitment, assessment, approval, training, supervision, support and review of foster carers.
5. Lead and manage the service to ensure a positive impact on children, young people, families, and carers through the effective and efficient delivery of IFA and other children's service activities and practices.
6. To be involved in the safer recruitment of staff, panel members and carers, to include vetting, interviewing and appointment of Form F assessors and inducting new employees in line with the company's safer recruitment process.
7. To contribute to and deliver a comprehensive workforce and carer training and development plan/programme to enable the service to have available all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the children and young people.
8. Liaise with the various internal and external multi-disciplinary teams and commissioning authorities to ensure that the care needs of new and existing children and young people and their carers are met.
9. To chair meetings, reviews, and discussions as necessary promoting the service with stakeholders and increase the retention and recruitment of carers and social workers.
10. Influence social work communities, meet with families, commissioners and assist with business development meetings.
11. To maintain an up to date and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, regulations, guidance and policies relevant to the care of children.
12. To ensure at all times that professional ethics and behaviour are demonstrated by all staff and carers. Actively co-ordinate the service provision and be a focal point for support, advice and coaching to all staff and carers.
13. Ensures regular supervision of practitioners, foster carers and staff either directly and/or through direct reports assess the quality of practice and the impact made on children, young people and/or families.
14. To ensure that the company's financial and administrative procedures are adhered to and to work within a set budget.
15. To work with other managers within the organisation to ensure that all staff work together and with others towards meeting the emotional and physical needs of the young people and planning for positive outcomes.
16. To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing good quality care which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued.
17. To be accountable and take responsibility for notifying and liaising with regulatory organisations.
18. Ensure that all necessary documentation required by regulators is completed to a high standard and be available for inspections, checks or interviews as requested.
19. To promote appropriate and therapeutic relationships between staff, young people, carers and their families, promoting the children and young people's involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the home.
20. To be part of an On-Call management system.
21. To participate in a range of corporate and management activities as defined by the Managing Director and Responsible Individual.
22. Ensure that safe working practices are employed by all staff and carers at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work legislation and the company's competent person.
23. Any other such duties as may be required from time to time by the executive team or their authorised representatives.
Minimum/Qualification Requirements:
1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services with Children and Young People's Residential Management Pathway; or equivalent; or a preparedness to work towards the same.
2. A recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree/Diploma).
3. Registered with Social Work England.
4. Experience of safeguarding children and young people.
5. Experience of working within a fostering setting.
6. Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
