As a Hospital Volunteer you will be providing a friendly and helpful welcome to patients, families, and visitors to Bolton Hospital and providing a general wayfinding service.
Volunteers are needed to provide a valuable resource, which enhances patient care by giving practical help and support to patients and staff, but does not replace the work of staff.
The only qualification required is your desire to help someone in need and have a professional friendly attitude.
We ask volunteers to help for a minimum of four hours a week and a minimum commitment for six months. We provide all the training you need to volunteer, including an induction and informal, friendly support and supervision.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for volunteers to support our Meet and Greet service in directing/accompanying patients, relatives, and visitors at our Main Reception and our Outpatients department at the hospital. You will be required to provide a friendly and polite welcome to the hospital and direct or accompany patients, families, and visitors to their appropriate destination.
