Actively track patients urgently referred to the Trust from General Practitioners (GP) or General Dental Practitioners (GDPs) who are suspected at referral of having Cancer. Ensure that these patients are listed on the Trust Cancer IT system Ensure that appropriate requests for investigations are initiated following the clinicians instructions and that appointments are given To adhere to the Trusts General Principles and Guidelines on Patient Access in relation to the management of waiting lists To remove non-malignant patients from the Cancer pathway by assessing oncology notes, PAS, RIS and ICE and to work with medical secretaries and the Clinical Team to identify such patients in a timely manner Ensure that any newly diagnosed cancer patients are identified and added to the Trust Cancer IT system. Ensure that the patient is known to the clinical team and that appropriate action is taken to manage the patient on the agreed pathway Please refer to the Job Description for the full specification of responsibilities and requirements for this post.
