JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Procurement Category Manager for EMEA reports to the Procurement Director. He shall manage the purchases and strategies for assigned chemical and ingredient categories including commodities, such as proteins, yeast extracts, baked items, cocoa, solvents, additives, and acids. Acts as a liaison to EMEA Sensient business units to promote communication and alignment with business unit goals pertaining to procurement. Must have knowledge of capital and indirect procurement management to optimize process improvements within assigned categories.
At all times, working in accordance with our global food safety policies and procedures that support activities of the Quality and Regulatory functions. Responsible for identifying and achieving assigned cost-saving initiatives target, while in compliance with auditable and finance rulings as assigned by the Procurement Director.
What you’ll do:
* Assume the leadership role for assigned categories across multiple EMEA locations.
* Responsible for strategic alignment of categories to proactively drive annual cost-saving initiatives, either regional or multi-regional, to optimize economic benefit.
* Prepare contracts across a global supply base for the assigned categories of direct raw material services, through negotiated pricing and consolidation techniques.
* Identify and assist in the qualification of new suppliers together with Global Quality Groups.
* Track cost-saving initiatives monthly, quarterly, and annually.
* Prepare and present quarterly to the management groups on market conditions, business updates, and opportunities in assigned categories; prepare annual budgets and analysis for assigned categories.
* Identify new supplier capabilities and implement supplier reviews to maintain existing or establish favorable long-term Purchase & Supply Chain relationships and agreements globally.
What you’ll bring:
* Degree level of education.
* CIPS Qualified / Equivalent or working towards at an advanced stage.
* Experience in strategic sourcing within Chemical, Food Ingredient, or Pharmaceutical roles, including finance support, commodity management, and contract management.
* Strong organizational, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to self-manage.
* Exposure to and facilitator of supplier negotiations, supplier contracting, value analysis techniques, and being an ‘out of the box’ thinker.
* Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
* In-depth experience in report writing and data generation with final analysis.
