As the Recruitment & Selection Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of recruiters to effectively attract, select and onboard the right people to support the communities of the West Midlands. We are seeking a talented and innovative leader with a proven track record in delivering excellent recruitment and selection services. You will know how to embed high performing, efficient, recruitment practices whilst maintaining a focus on delivering excellent customer service to both candidates and internal stakeholders. Our recruitment team play a crucial role in ensuring that we have the right number of officers and staff to make the communities of the West Midlands safer. The role will involve: Leading the management of the Recruitment services Managing effective resourcing delivery and contributing to the strategy, engaging with senior leaders to encourage and develop proactive approach and outlook Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of resourcing initiatives to inform the commissioning of new interventions via workforce metrics and data Managing the smooth and effective delivery of the force’s workforce plan, resulting in the right colleagues recruited at the right time in line with the forces vision and values Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of Recruitment performance against KPI’s and SLA’s Ensuring that the recruitment team provide an excellent level of customer service and that candidates are being processed by the Recruitment & Selection team whilst mitigating and highlighting potential risks Leading the Citizens in Policing team including responsibility for Cadets, Specials and general volunteering The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative with strategic oversight from the Workforce Planning and Recruitment Strategic Lead. Essential Requirements Experience of managing a resourcing/recruitment/Volunteering team within a large complex organisation Knowledge of resourcing/recruitment practices and their contribution to business success Experience of managing/delivering high profile volume recruitment activity Delivering services to dynamic organisation with completing demands. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to engage with key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. Excellent report writing, presentation and business case skills High level of awareness of diversity issues appropriate to this role Experience of delivering diversity through recruitment strategies and initiatives including positive action Desirable Requirements Previous experience of working within Policing or a Blue Light / public sector organisation. Managing a team in the successful delivery of a People Strategy Leadership in a values led organisation Trained as an Advanced Designated Safeguarding Lead Prospective officers and staff must be held to a higher standard of behaviour and accountability than members of the public, and that therefore their right to privacy can be fettered in certain circumstances. Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter-Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background and financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
