An exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Research Nurse or a Senior Clinical Trial Co-ordinator has arisen in the CCLI Research Team at Royal Papworth NHS Foundation Trust. We are a team of experienced and dedicated professionals collaborating with our talented multi-disciplinary clinical teams to deliver a wide range of innovative high-quality research trials to inform the future care of our patients. The R & D team supports a large and growing portfolio of studies across multiple specialities.
The CCLI research team coordinates and delivers many complex, mainly CTIMP research studies. We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Research Nurse or Senior Clinical Trial Co-ordinator who is enthusiastic, motivated, autonomous, and proactive and who will enjoy the challenge of delivering high-quality research.
You will be based at the new Heart Lung Research Institute (HLRI) and Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Research Team, you will be responsible for the setup and coordination of multiple clinical trials. Your duties would include the setup of study activities, consenting and recruiting suitable patients, coordinating data collection, arranging, and conducting assessments, follow-up appointments, tests, and investigations which are specified by the study protocol.
You will ensure that specified milestones are achieved on time, that high-quality data is collected, and that the trial is being conducted according to the ethically approved protocol and ICH-GCP standards.
The post holder will be responsible for a portfolio of commercial clinical trials including randomised, controlled trials and observational studies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Valid registration with NMC if applicable
* Degree in a relevant science or health care subject
* Completion of, or willingness to undertake, a relevant Level 5 Higher Education qualification.
* NIHR CRP Accreditation
Experience
* Relevant experience in either clinical practice and/or clinical research experience at a minimum of NHS Band 5 or above.
* Experience of undertaking and proven ability in coordinating projects.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training required for the role i.e., competency training, Research Skills training, Consent training, etc.
* Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Understanding of a clinical/hospital environment.
* Recognition of factors in maintaining own and others health, safety, and security.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Understanding the importance of accurate data collection and recording for clinical use.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Positive attitude to change.
* The ability to make changes to own practice and offer suggestions for improving services across the department.
* Able to devise and implement Standard Operating Procedures in own area of practice.
* Maintains the quality in own work and encourages others to do the same.
