Role Purpose
As a Financial Accountant at Lonza AG, you will assist with the preparation of monthly and annual group reporting and accounts. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will follow established procedures, accounting principles, and guidelines to maintain accurate and timely financial records for our EMEA collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work within a fast-paced Record to Report (R2R) department in a Shared Service Centre (SSC) to deliver delegated month-end close activities.
2. Meet tight deadlines by performing all tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
3. Support multiple country/unit-based markets by providing a high-quality transactional accounting function.
4. Manage end-to-end R2R processes within the SSC, including:
1. Payroll Accounting
2. Travel & Expense (T&E) Accounting
3. Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR)
4. Pre-payments and accruals
5. Provide supporting schedules for internal and external auditors.
6. Maintain a working understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
7. Handle direct and indirect taxes efficiently.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Key Requirements
1. Qualified AAT, part-qualified, or currently studying for an ICAEW (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) qualification, or qualified by experience.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a finance department.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Strong listening skills.
5. Resilient with the ability to handle challenges effectively.
6. Proven problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
7. Strong analytical abilities.
