The Building and Facilities team currently maintain around 500 buildings as part of the council estate, covering corporate offices, leisure centres, commercial property and buildings & structures of historic importance, no day is the same. Covering all things property and building related the team are responsible for asset compliance, day to day repairs, energy management and capital investment programmes. We currently have an exciting opportunity within our team for a Fire Safety Manager, forming part of the senior building and facilities team this role will lead and support the organisation in relation to fire safety whilst bringing new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team. Responsible for all aspects relating to Fire Safety on a large and varied portfolio of land and buildings across the City of Salford. We deal with schools, social care premises, housing buildings, leisure buildings and listed historic buildings, etc. About the role This role is for a Fire Safety Manager, and they will be responsible for the strategic direction of all things relating to Fire Safety for the Salford City Council and our diverse property portfolio within the private, education and local authority sectors. As a key member of the Building and Facilities team you will be responsible for the Councils Fire Safety Policy, Procedure, and Strategies to ensure that we maintain compliant with all relevant legislation, regulation and best practice for variety of commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial and residential building across the City of Salford. The role will also be responsible for the contract management of our specialist fire safety contractors delivering fire risk assessments and servicing works to fire safety systems which will include undertaking pre and post inspections of works to ensure high levels of quality control, contractor meeting and assisting with procurement. About you We re looking for a highly motivated Fire Safety professional with a passion for all things building related, you form part of a highly experienced multi disciplined team delivering asset management services to diverse and challenging portfolio. As a key member of the building and facilities team you will be educated to a minimum of Level 4 in Fire Safety and Level 3 in Fire Risk Assessment and compartmentation, with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience and demonstratable experience of leading on policy and strategy in large and complex organizations.
