Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our incredible team in our Concierge Plus service in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE4) in a part-time support worker position for 28 hours per week.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their lives.
The role we are looking to fill is that of a concierge. You will be responsible for keeping the building and the people we support safe, ensuring appropriate access is managed, which involves the use of technology.
You will also be responsible for organizing social events for the people we support to foster a sense of community and give them an opportunity to socialize. You will be the point of contact for the people we support if they need advice or just someone to talk to, and you will liaise with professionals from outside agencies.
The property has a communal lounge and touchdown space, as well as a communal garden and greenhouse for people we support to enjoy outdoor activities.
What we're looking for:
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
Part-time: 24 hours per week
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
