Arthur Financial have partnered with a leading insurance broker to support with their search for a part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join on a 9-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with 3–5 years’ experience, ideally with a strong grounding in core accounting tasks and month-end reporting. The successful candidate will be required to attend their Bristol office on a hybrid basis 3 days per week.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts
2. Revenue recognition
3. Posting staff costs and expenses
4. Managing accruals, prepayments and month-end journals
5. Reconcile key balance sheet accounts
6. Process payments for day-to-day operating expenses (via online banking)
7. Reconcile bank and cash transactions to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate
8. Support with cash flow forecasting and monitoring
9. Support with variance analysis and commentary for board and management reporting
10. Assist with audit queries and support year-end processes
Skills & Experience:
1. 3-5 years of month-end experience
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
3. Working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
4. Experience in financial services or insurance (desirable)
