We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of their pupils. This role begins April 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
* Support pupils in both classroom and intervention settings to encourage engagement and independence.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a positive learning environment.
* Use a range of differentiated teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
* Help manage behaviour and emotional regulation using positive reinforcement techniques.
* Support pupils with physical, sensory, or communication needs, ensuring their well-being and safety.
* Assist with classroom preparation and the adaptation of learning materials as needed.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.
* A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children’s needs.
* Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* Ability to use initiative and adapt to different learning situations.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
