Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead the food and drink operations across a range of services, including a private members club, meetings and events, staff dining, off-site community sports venue café, and public café. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring financial accountability, overseeing food safety, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Management:
o Lead and oversee all food and beverage operations, ensuring high service standards across the private members club, public café, staff dining, meetings and events, and off-site community sports venues.
o Lead and inspire the management team for the day-to-day operations of the private members club, including the club room, private dining room, and overall dining service.
o Develop and implement operational strategies for each business segment, ensuring year-round consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
2. Client Liaison & Relationship Management:
o Act as the primary liaison between the food and drink business and members during the Championships.
o Conduct monthly meetings with clients to review and discuss the P&L, statistics, and performance of the dining room operation.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, event organizers, and members.
3. Innovation & Service Development:
o Drive innovation within the food and beverage offerings, continuously improving and diversifying menus, drink services, and event catering.
o Work closely with chefs, beverage specialists, and vendors to develop new concepts and seasonal offerings.
o Enhance the drink service by introducing new cocktails and improving service standards.
4. Financial Accountability & Reporting:
o Oversee financial management for all food and beverage operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
o Review monthly P&L statements and key statistics, providing regular feedback and strategic recommendations.
o Monitor revenue streams and implement strategies to drive growth.
5. Food Safety & Health and Safety:
o Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, health and safety policies, and industry standards.
o Develop and implement staff training programs focused on food safety and hygiene.
o Regularly audit and inspect facilities to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
6. Event & Meeting Operations:
o Lead the food and beverage operations for a variety of year-round events.
o Manage catering for off-site venues.
o Ensure that the dining experience for staff, members, and guests at events is seamless.
7. Staff Management & Development:
o Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of food and beverage professionals.
o Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
o Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork and skill development.
8. Marketing & Promotions:
o Collaborate with the marketing team to promote food and beverage offerings and events.
o Implement promotional campaigns and themed events to drive customer engagement.
9. Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction:
o Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by consistently delivering exceptional food, drink, and service experiences.
o Regularly gather and evaluate customer feedback.
o Lead the implementation of improvements based on customer insights.
Qualifications & Skills:
