Overview of the Role Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a one-form entry Primary School in the centre of Blackburn who are looking for a Y6 teacher to cover a permanent gap in staffing due to the current class teacher going on a secondment. The class teacher has spent 8 years working in year 6 and felt it was time to source a new challenge at another local school. Behaviour has been graded as Good and Effectiveness of Leadership and Management has also been graded as Good during a recent Ofsted inspection. From working with the school for a number of year, this school would be a welcoming and friendly environment for a new team member. The school: The school is located in Blackburn and does have a mixed catchment area, with the majority of the children attending school from Asian heritage families, therefore experience working within diverse schools would be ideal. The school is a one-form entry Primary and behaviour is good through-out. The Head teacher is a well driven and committed leader who ensures all staff in school are well supported and led to raising standards in the classroom. The role: The role is to commence after the East holidays and will continue until July 2025 at least, with the opportunity to become longer term. The expectation is that the successful practitioner will take up the role on a full-time basis after Easter half-term and complete a number of days transition/handover with the current class teacher. You will be expected to plan, deliver and assess the Year 6 Curriculum tailored towards the Y6 SATs. There will also be the added responsibility of; parents evening; class reports; homework clubs.
