This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong academic background in both Civil and Structural Engineering, including advanced study in areas such as geotechnical engineering, wind load analysis, and the structural behaviour of corroded steel members. The ideal candidate will have an MSc in Structural Engineering with a 1st Class honours degree and an MSc in Civil Engineering with Construction Management, with relevant coursework and dissertation topics that showcase their expertise in advanced structural design and construction management. Key Responsibilities: • Structural Design and Analysis: Conducting design and analysis of steel and reinforced concrete structures, with a focus on high-performance engineering solutions. • Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering: Providing insight and expertise on ground investigations, foundation design, and soil mechanics, ensuring all structural projects adhere to safety and regulatory standards. • Construction Management: Collaborating with construction teams to apply principles of risk management and project life cycle optimization to deliver projects efficiently and on time. • Research and Development: Contributing to cutting-edge engineering studies, including experimental analysis on wind loads, bluff body aerodynamics, and the effects of corrosion on steel structures. • Collaboration and Reporting: Working closely with project managers, clients, and other engineers to ensure that all designs and constructions meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. Reporting on progress and technical issues effectively to senior management. Qualifications and Skills: • MSc in Structural Engineering (1st Class), with a focus on advanced structural analysis, concrete properties, and the design of tall buildings. • MSc in Civil Engineering with Construction Management, including coursework in risk management, ground investigation, and foundation design. • BSc in Civil Engineering (2:1) • Strong Technical Knowledge: Expertise in structural design, soil mechanics, ground investigations, and experimental studies on wind loads and corrosion. • Relevant Software Knowledge: Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) and geotechnical analysis tools. • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data and provide innovative engineering solutions. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to a variety of audiences.
