My Client is looking for a Group People Director, to lead the People function on its growth journey and vision to become the UK’s best hospitality company.
As a key member of the Group Senior Leadership Team, you’ll be responsible for developing, executing, and championing a fully aligned People Strategy that ensures extraordinary guest experiences are consistently delivered through the various teams. This role works closely with the Board, acts as secretary to the Remuneration Committee, and interfaces with colleagues at all levels.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the group’s long-term growth plans.
* Lead and mentor the HR Leadership Teams across the group and different divisions; deliver high-quality professional services and business partnerships that are aligned with the group values.
* Provide values-based leadership, supporting organisational effectiveness, accountability, and DE&I, with regular reporting to the board.
* Advise on people challenges, manage organisational change sensitively, and support complex areas including ER, employment tribunals and succession planning to ensure sustainability and growth.
* Lead strategic workforce planning, ensuring the group is positioned to attract and retain top talent, and foster a development culture at all levels.
* Enhance position as an employer of choice through a compelling EVP and engagement initiatives.
* Build performance systems, tools and metrics to provide data-driven insights in people decisions
* Lead the design and implementation of HR transformation initiatives to align with organisational objectives driving the group’s strategic agenda.
* Drive the adoption of digital HR solutions and ensuring seamless integration with existing technologies to future-proof HR operations.
* Act as HR Representative for Splendid Internally and externally, managing all third-party relationships (Employment Law, Occupational Health, Engagement, Development, etc.) and the overall People Budget.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential
* Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) or demonstrable experience at Director level, including leading senior HR Professionals
* Experience of managing departments of 20+ and budgets of 2M+
* Extensive change management experience and proven delivery of a ‘cultural shift’
* Independent thinking is required to define how the strategy can be delivered in practice, with a need to prepare and communicate plans, prioritise and sequence projects and activity appropriately
* Skilled in managing operational priorities, navigating complexity, overseeing budgets, and analysing data to support strategic decisions.
* Strong ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels, leveraging listening, influencing, and coaching skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a Group HRD role in an organisation undergoing growth and/or significant transformation
* Experience in designing, managing and implementing HR transformation projects
* Experienced in leading specialist teams and managing third-party suppliers, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
* Proven success in strategic people and culture leadership roles, working with board level on issues like pay, recruitment, development, DEI, and employment law.
* Previous experience of forming and/or participating in Remuneration Committees.
The position is based in Watford and has a hybrid model of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home/in the field.
The role is paying £120K-£130K + 30% bonus and a £4,500 car allowance.
