Reporting to the CFO. you will be responsible for producing financial and statutory information and ensuring that best practice is used across the business. Supporting the growth of the company, this position will foster continuous improvement, automation and will ensure that relevant controls are in place across the organisation. Key responsibilities : Working closely with the CFO, deputising for them when required, to review and improve operational finance processes and reporting cycles. Providing comprehensive financial updates to senior management, the Board and others as required. Supporting the implementation of a new system, ensuring alignment and clear communication across departments. Working with the auditors and finance team to lead an efficient and timely year end audit process. Overseeing and supporting a small team managing the month and quarter close processes, ensuring this is completed in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail. Reviewing and maintaining internal control processes to ensure that financial decisions are made with awareness of their implications. Managing the payroll process and all other staff related transactions. Providing suggestions for improvements to finance practice procedures for the company and implement as required, ensuring all processes are documented. The ideal candidate: A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent). Proven experience in a controllership position with demonstrated ability to manage a team. A natural team player with well-developed interpersonal/communication skills, able to promote good team working and promote a culture of transparency. Previous experience with system implementations/integrations would be advantageous Strong excel skills An inquisitive 'can-do’ mind-set that is numerically strong and continuously challenges and seeks process improvement.
