Description
The job itself
The Wolds Federation of Schools are looking to appoint a new SENDCo to start in January 2025 or earlier if possible.
Are you passionate about making a difference for children with
SEND and their families?
Do you want to find creative ways to support teachers and teaching assistants to change their practice for the better?
Then we are looking for you.
The Wolds Federation is a federation of three very small rural schools with a real passion for inclusive practice, equality of opportunity and providing the very best education we can for all our children.
Due to the retirement of the current postholder we are seeking a qualified SENDCo who can help us to take the next steps on our journey.
As a non-teaching SENDCo you would be expected to lead on SEND provision across all three of our schools. The post is for 13 hours a week, the equivalent of two days a week. However, there are opportunities for the right applicant to work flexibly for the benefit of our children and this could even include some remote working.
You would be supporting the leadership team to ensure all elements of the SEND code of practice are followed, supporting class teachers to meet the very diverse needs of the children in our three distinctive schools, working with parents in partnership to get the best support for their children. In addition, you would be the link between external agencies and the schools.
You would need to transport yourself between the three schools, mileage costs paid.
In this role you are required to speak English with sufficient fluency to effectively perform your duties, as required by Section 42 of the Immigration Act 2016.
In line with statutory guidance: Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023), an online search will be carried out on all shortlisted candidates.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity or look round the schools, please contact Sharon Stone.
