An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and conscientious individual to join our Community Specialist Palliative Care Team as an Operational Team Leader. We are looking for a highly motivated, resilient, and enthusiastic nurse with experience in palliative care, evidence of leadership and management experience, and proven advanced communication skills to manage our Fife-wide palliative care outreach team. You will be part of a forward-thinking service delivering and supporting holistic care to the people of Fife with advanced life-limiting illness.
You will have a keen interest in palliative care, utilizing your expert knowledge base and clinical competence. You will manage people with complex palliative care needs and work to deliver the Palliative Care strategy: Palliative Care Matters for all, set out by the Scottish Government, ensuring that everyone who needs palliative care will have access to it.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading the delivery of the clinical service across Fife. The primary function of the role is to provide leadership, management, and communication to and for the team, driving quality initiatives, ensuring the delivery of efficient, effective, coordinated, and responsive high-quality care to patients, and being a source of professional support to colleagues within the Health & Social Care Partnership and inpatient services, assisting with integration in the wider service delivery of palliative care.
The post holder will work within the four pillars of practice, clinically providing high-quality healthcare that is safe, effective, and person-centered. Facilitating learning by enabling effective learning in the workplace both with your team and wider across acute and Health and Social Care Partnership. Leadership, inspiring and influencing others to achieve their maximum. Evidence, research, and development, supporting evidence to inform practice and improve patient care.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
