Engagement Officer (Arts and Culture)
The North York Moors National Park Authority helps to look after one of the most phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with beautiful moorlands and fantastic woodland, the North York Moors is a unique area with a diversity of landscape and wildlife.
We are now looking for an Engagement Officer (Arts and Culture) to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week at our National Park Centre in Danby, North Yorkshire. We would be willing to consider a small reduction in the number of hours worked in order to facilitate personal artistic commitments.

* Salary of £26,409 - £29,093 per annum

The Role
As the Engagement Officer (Arts and Culture), you will manage the day-to-day operations of our Inspired By…. gallery. You will also be responsible for implementing our Arts and Culture Strategy by engaging with artists, arts organisations, partners, and the wider community. Working alongside the Arts, Events and Wellbeing Manager, you will deliver an annual programme of exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events inspired by the North York Moors National Park.
Ensuring the gallery is operationally excellent, you will liaise with artists, manage installations, and curate exhibitions that engage a wide range of audiences. You will also support the development of our Wellbeing events programme through a range of arts and cultural themed activities.
Additionally, you will:
* Contribute to our arts and culture partnership programme
* Develop an annual programme of art exhibitions within the gallery
* Develop and oversee a range of art-based workshops
* Support efforts to develop links with artists and art organisations
* Take responsibility for each art exhibit
* Manage volunteer activities
* Help develop art and culture content
About You
To be considered as an Engagement Officer (Arts and Culture), you will need:
* Experience in gallery curation/management, including artist selection and technical appraisal
* Experience working with partners in the arts sector and building new networks
* Proven ability to engage with diverse audiences through arts and cultural initiatives
* Experience of data collection, analysis, and evaluation skills related to public engagement
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
