Role Title: Security Officer

Coleg Cambria is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard our Deeside campus, ensuring the safety of our students, staff, visitors, and assets. The role involves maintaining a visible, proactive security presence through regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and controlling access points. The successful candidate will respond to emergencies and incidents, preventing unauthorised entry and deterring criminal activity, while upholding a safe and secure environment through effective conflict management and incident reporting.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough patrols of campus grounds, managing entry and exit points, and assisting in emergency situations such as fires or medical incidents. The Security Officer will operate CCTV systems, handle security-related investigations, and ensure compliance with campus policies, effectively addressing issues such as misbehaviour, substance use, and unauthorised access. The role also involves providing first aid when necessary and coordinating emergency evacuations with relevant authorities.
The successful candidate must be able to travel between different Coleg Cambria sites and participate in professional development activities. Essential Requirements
1. SIA Personal Licence
2. First Aid Training
3. Experience working in a security role, preferably within an educational or similar institutional setting
4. Effective problem-solving skills to quickly assess situations and determine the appropriate course of action
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
