Your role and responsibilities As the Business Support Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across both learning & development and recruitment activities. Here's a glimpse into what your typical week will look like: You'll be the main point of contact for enquiries, offering support and directing people to the appropriate resources. Managing schedules and communications, ensuring everyone is aware of upcoming events and tasks. Organising events and activities, including the preparation of relevant materials. Ensuring all pre-event tasks are completed, making the process smooth for everyone. Providing guidance on best practices, helping navigate various processes. Supporting assessments, exams, and personal development processes. Keeping our website and communications fresh and engaging. Analysing data and generating reports to support continuous improvement. Assisting with financial administration tasks. What you will bring to the team Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills to confidently interact with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft 365 products. The ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain self-motivation to get things done. Excellent attention to detail. A genuine interest in learning & development and recruitment is essential. While not required, an understanding of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service would be beneficial. The team Our Workforce Planning and Development Team includes Learning and Development, Recruitment and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams. You will support learning & development and recruitment as we hire On-Call Firefighters, Wholetime Firefighters, and non-operational staff, providing clear development pathways for staff to become skilled professionals. Our teams operate in various locations across Suffolk, with Learning and Development based at the Fire Service Training Centre in Wattisham and the Recruitment Team located at HQ at Endeavour House in Ipswich. There may be instances where work is required in other locations across the county as directed by department managers. There are no public transport links to Wattisham, so a full driving licence and personal transport are beneficial, or you must be able to travel by other reasonable means.
