About the Role As a Transport FLM, you will be an integral part of our transport team, leading a group of drivers and ensuring the timely, safe, and efficient delivery of products. Working a 4 on, 4 off dayshift pattern, you will provide hands-on leadership while maintaining compliance with transport regulations and company standards. Key Accountabilities • Create a safe and environmentally sound workplace, adhering to health and safety policies and legal standards. • Ensure full compliance with transport laws, including Road Transport and Working Time Directives, and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Drive performance by achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring the team is aligned and focused on success. • Address and resolve service issues promptly, escalating when necessary to maintain customer satisfaction. • Lead by example, promoting company values such as aiming high, everybody matters, working together and I do what I says. • Motivate and engage your team by setting clear goals, conducting effective driver debrief sessions, and fostering open communication. • Optimise labour utilisation using scheduling systems and flexibility to meet operational demands. • Recruit, train, and develop drivers and administrators who embody the company’s values and possess the skills and qualifications needed to excel. • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and sites to achieve shared goals and company objectives. Your Key Ingredients for Success We’re looking for a motivated and capable individual with experience in transport logistics operations, leadership, and customer service. You should hold a Transport Manager CPC qualification (or be willing to achieve it) and a valid UK driver’s license. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transport scheduling systems, along with strong analytical and communication skills, will be essential.
