NHS Western Isles is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified registered health professionals for the post of Clinical Practice Trainer (simulation focused). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who will be responsible for designing and implementing a simulation service into NHS Western Isles as a teaching facility for medical undergraduates, post graduates, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The aim of the role is to facilitate expansion in the training opportunities provided at NHS Western Isles. To design and deliver simulation-based training within the curriculum requirements for medical undergraduates as well as within national guidelines for post graduate trainees. This will include creating simulation scenarios and delivering MDT Teaching session for all grades listed above.
The post holder will have extended post registration experience as a registered, healthcare professional and be up to date in clinical skills. The post holder will have a Degree in Nursing, Midwifery or another health-related subject and be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development. The post holder will have experience of teaching clinical skills.
The post holder will be based at the Western Isles Hospital but will support staff in all our healthcare locations throughout NHS Western Isles. The ability to travel throughout the islands and to the mainland for meetings is essential.
It is essential to have a driving licence for this post. This post is not eligible for relocation expenses. The successful applicant will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
