The catering department is looking to recruit a part-time experienced Catering Team Leader to work within patient services at our new hospital, Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick.
Applicants must have previous supervisory catering experience with high standards of work, be an outgoing, hard-working, and enthusiastic individual that is able to work on their own initiative.
Hours: 18 hours per week
Shift pattern:
1. Week 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 13:30 - 20:00
2. Week 2 - Tuesday 13:30 - 20:00, Saturday & Sunday 14:00 - 20:00
Applicants are required to be flexible in their approach to hours and duties and able to work additional shifts as and when required.
Candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited to an informal open day and if successful will then be invited to a formal interview.
Responsibilities:
1. To be responsible for the supervision of staff employed to carry out a wide range of duties to meet the needs and expectations of all patient and customer groups, providing a high-quality, efficient, and effective service at all times.
2. To promote and maintain best practice in all areas of the department, ensuring catering services are provided in strict compliance with all food safety legislation and HACCP.
3. To make a positive contribution in the work undertaken by the Catering Management Team and to provide cover for senior colleagues as required.
4. Duties include completing quality checks within the catering hub kitchens, completing audits, and communicating between catering staff and hotel services staff.
5. Carrying a mobile phone and answering and actioning any queries and questions.
6. To be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and cost-effective deployment of catering staff ensuring maximum efficiency of resources along with maintenance of food safety standards and HACCP.
