Job summary We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated HealthCare Assistant (HCA) to join our dynamic team. AMU is a busy area taking patients with a variety of care needs for assessment and initial treatment. The candidate needs to be an excellent team player with proven Customer Care skills and will need effective communication skills as well as the ability to work under pressure. Alongside direct care the candidate will be expected to support the nurses with patient assessment and will have the opportunity to develop skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording and to pursue a link nurse role. Please note we do not offer Certificates of Sponsorships for this role Main duties of the job Your role as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) is to work alongside registered nurse as part of the ward or department team to provide care to patients. The types of duties include: washing and dressing patients, serving patients meals, assisting with feeding patients when necessary, helping people to mobilise, assisting patients with toileting, bed-making, generally assisting with patients' overall comfort, monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight. Acting with compassion you will put patients at the centre of all you do. You will communicate effectively with patients and their carers.
