Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are currently supporting a well-established retail client in recruiting for a HR Manager. The position will be a standalone role heading up the HR function for the business, providing expertise in ER guidance, HR policy and procedure management, workplace planning, and Learning and Development.
Main Responsibilities of the HR Manager:
1. Manage all core HR areas, including employee relations, HR admin, learning and development, internal recruitment, employee engagement, and maintaining and improving the HR system.
2. Regulation and Compliance: Be the expert in current regulation compliance, including professional standards, policies and procedures, and legislation (including data protection, the Equality Act, and Health and Safety).
3. Identify, manage, and mitigate risks to the business, working with the CEO to put measures in place to address areas of risk.
4. Partner with Line Managers to create role specs, select the right recruitment channels, screen CVs, and support interviews - bringing in fresh talent that fits our unique culture.
5. Manage the Onboarding Process.
6. Training & Development: Coordinate training programs, book courses, and track employee development.
7. Provide responsive, best-practice HR guidance to Line Managers on issues like sickness, disciplinaries, performance, and employment law compliance.
8. Employee Relations: Tackle sensitive employee issues, including disputes and grievances, with tact and professionalism.
9. Performance & Talent Management: Coordinate staff appraisals, track performance, and help with succession planning. Identify training opportunities that help our teams flourish.
10. Day-to-Day HR Operations: Keep everything running smoothly, from maintaining the HR online management system to assisting with payroll alongside our Finance team.
11. Health & Wellbeing: Champion health and wellbeing initiatives that keep our people happy and thriving.
12. Company Benefits: Advise employees on company benefits and keep them informed.
13. Oversee the new starter and leaver processes to ensure seamless transitions.
14. Engagement: Be the champion for engagement and welfare activities, maximizing productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers, and building leadership capability.
15. Continuous Improvement: Identify ongoing people-related challenges using a data-led approach and create solutions to address them.
Experience and Skills Required:
1. You're passionate about people - you're a people-person, a relationship-builder, and a champion of employee wellbeing.
2. Have at least 5 years' experience as an HR Advisor with a generalist remit, and a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or be working towards it).
3. Confident in managing a variety of HR tasks and can juggle priorities with ease, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
4. Solid handle on Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and know how to present data and insights with PowerPoint.
