The Role:
Join our friendly team here at Woodcot Resource Centre Day Service as a Day Opportunities Coordinator. You’ll play a key role in assisting your team to deliver an excellent service to people with learning disabilities, creating a positive and welcoming environment. You will provide effective leadership support to enable the team to deliver person-centred services, identifying the needs of the people who use our services, developing their confidence and potential.
We support people with a range of differing needs, abilities and interests and you’ll celebrate this diversity, promoting inclusion while offering fun and fulfilling activities to suit the individual. In this role, no two days are the same. You may be out and about swimming, bowling, going to the cinema or even the pub. Or simply sharing a personal hobby or interest, within our well-resourced facilities.

As a Day Opportunities Coordinator, you will have significant experience of working with learning disabilities, including in a Day Services environment. You will have the ability to support and offer training and guidance to less experienced staff, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team through change with positivity. Most importantly, you’ll demonstrate our core values, showing patience, empathy and compassion and share our commitment to enabling people to lead full and active lives as independently as possible. As a strong team player, you must have good communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people. With a ‘can do’ approach, you’ll enjoy thinking creatively and inspiring others to engage. Sound IT and accurate information recording skills are also essential.

Travel Requirements
You will be required to drive a Council vehicle and must hold a current full drivers’ licence.
