Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Coordinator to work on the AMP8 United Utilities Project.
We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.
We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Design Coordinator
* Produce design briefs for multi-disciplinary station projects & temporary works
* Review submissions as directed for quality and sufficiency
* Update design folders and registers ongoing
* Produce minutes and schedules for Design Review Meetings
* Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input
* Sketching / Drawing ability including CAD.
* Initial awareness of temporary works; further experience to be gained
* Ensure correct drawings are maintained and issued to sites in accordance with above
* Co-ordination / management abilities to deal with several small projects or large multi-disciplined projects
* Excellent communication skills and assertive when required to ensure timeous design delivery
* Design capability as pre-requisite for submission review and checking
* Ability to undertake small scale in-house temporary design

* Significant heavy civils experience ideally in Utilities and water
* Highly competent in surveying and setting out techniques and able to teach others.
* Experience managing and mentoring engineers
* Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
* Full clean UK driving license
