The role of Head of Finance will drive the financial performance and place the business in a position of strength and is a key member of the Business Senior Management Team, supporting the Managing Director to achieve the agreed business plan and sustainable, profitable growth. The Head of Finance will have a broad level of operational knowledge to enable critical review and challenge of key decisions and information across all areas and disciplines of the Business.
The Head of Finance will oversee all financial aspects, driving financial strategy, and ensuring robust financial management. The Head of Finance will play a key role in initiating and proactively driving change throughout the business with determination and focus, and drive efficiencies. The role of Head of Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to the Managing Director and Group’s Finance Director.
What You Will Do
Strategic Financial Leadership
* Develop and implement the business financial strategy to support long-term business objectives.
* Provide strategic recommendations to the MD and Executive Team.
* Ensure alignment between financial performance and strategic objectives.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
* Lead financial planning and analysis tools, including budgeting, forecasting, and modelling.
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Develop the business plan and timely and relevant inputs required from areas of the business.
* Support the Chief Financial Officer and other Heads of Finance as required.
Financial Management:
* Ensure compliance for all financial operations, including accounting, tax, and risk management, and cash flow forecasting.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Operational Efficiency:
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Implement best practices in financial management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Proactively support and business partner with managers/directors from other departments.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Group Finance & Regional Senior Management Teams.
* Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Team.
Team Leadership:
* Direct line management including objective setting, recruitment, and performance management.
* Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to establish a highly skilled, highly motivated team.
Risk Management:
* Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
* Oversee internal controls and audit processes.
Performance Monitoring:
* Produce commentaries and supplementary analysis to support any variances to budget/previous forecasts.
What You Will Have
* Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
* Proficiency in Excel.
* Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise.
* Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
* Strong analytical, numerical, communication, people, and motivational skills to lead a team.
* Demonstrate a proactive process improvement approach.
