At Griffin Mill, we are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accounts Clerk to join our fast-paced team.
An Accounts Clerk is an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function with the business. As a Accounts Clerk specialist you will be in charge of the company spending, overseeing all purchases made by your business, monitoring how much is owed at all times.
Reporting to the Financial Controller and Accounts Supervisor, the Accounts Clerk role generally assists the accounts department as necessary, providing any information required by Managing Director.
The Accounts Clerk role is responsible for making BACS or cheque payments, coding and checking invoices, working out VAT Payments, checking and reconciling statements and dealing with all purchase enquiries.
An Accounts Clerk work will include basic book keeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers and running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct.
The Accounts Clerk will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:
2. Reconciling finance accounts
3. Maintaining spreadsheets
4. Process Manufacturers Direct Debits from there system and update cashflow
5. Update fully paid vehicle lists
6. Process Manufacturer sundry invoices to DMS system
7. Process settlements
8. Check bank for payments
9. Checking costs on vehicles
10. Daily print of consignment invoices and process to DMS system
11. Cover where necessary within department
The fulfil this role the position holder will need an ability to:
12. Strong understanding of the workings of an office
13. Basic understanding of accountancy and book keeping
14. Excellent interpersonal skills - to deal with customer and external contacts
15. Good organisational skills and ability to work to and sometime implement own processes
