The Company Our client supports around 4 million customers in the UK, providing a highly regulated and vital service. They're working through a 5 year transformation programme and have an extensive range of projects to deliver, most of which are underpinned by changes to their IT systems and services. In order to ensure the work undertaken is fit for purpose and will deliver the required results they are looking to strengthen their architectural practice with a number of key hires, including an experienced Solutions Architect. The Role The role will play a vital part in adding detail to enterprise architecture plans, with an awareness of longer term business goals and appreciation of interaction between IT systems you'll be confident in translating business needs into effective technical solutions. This involves interpreting business and technical requirements to create detailed architectural blueprints, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. A strong understanding of both current and future business capabilities is essential to determine appropriate enterprise solution designs and drive desired business outcomes. Furthermore, the role necessitates a proactive approach to assessing emerging technologies, staying informed about trends and disruptions, and evaluating their potential application. Facilitating the selection of software products and designing configurations are also crucial aspects. Implementation is a key focus, requiring leadership in evaluating and designing solution architectures across various business applications and technologies. Close collaboration with the program management office will ensure that project execution aligns with planned outcomes. Finally, this role involves providing enterprise guidance by defining architectural principles, guidelines, and standards, ensuring that all solution decisions are consistent with the organization's future-state architectural vision. The Person Candidates will have; Experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, application development, or cloud development Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences Minimum of 5 years residency in the UK (required for security clearance) Formal training and certification in an Architectural discipline such as TOGAF. Recognised Cyber Security certification Knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network and security Knowledge of information principles and processes Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps) The role will come with salary of £70-75,000, car allowance and bonus of up to 15%. There is a requirement to be able to travel to the office 4 days per week however the client has a number of sites across the North East and you can work from any of these.
