Job Purpose
As the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Lead, you will shape the safety culture and environmental strategy on site. Working closely with operational teams, you'll ensure compliance, reduce accidents, and improve environmental efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role, offering the chance to drive continuous improvement and make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety:
* Promote a positive HSE culture and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
* Drive HSE performance metrics, reducing accidents and improving workplace safety.
* Conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
Environmental:
* Monitor and improve resource use (energy, water, emissions).
* Support environmental audits and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
Leadership & Collaboration:
* Develop teams to embrace continuous improvement and best practices.
* Provide training on HSE procedures, fostering a safe and productive environment.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels to build a culture of care, trust, and commitment.
Food Safety & Quality:
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer specifications.
* Support external audits (e.g., BRC) and promote good manufacturing practices.
Key Performance Indicators:
* Reduction in reportable accidents and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs).
* Lower claims and insurance costs.
* Completion of audits and fire drills on schedule.
* Delivery of training programs.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
* Membership with IOSH (Grad IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate).
* Degree in HSE or a related field (preferred).
* Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable but not essential).
