Electrical Wind Turbine Technician - Glasgow

We are recruiting for Electrical Technicians in Glasgow to join our teams of Onshore Wind Turbine Technicians.
The role is permanent and based from Port Glasgow. Training is provided.
Our Electrical Technicians play an essential role in ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of our onshore wind turbines. Our technicians are at the heart of our service business, and you will receive full support from our team of experts in your day-to-day role.
Your role as an Electrical Wind Turbine Technician
1. Together with your teammate, you will be responsible for carrying out risk assessments, method statements, inspections, repairs, and maintaining safety standards to ensure our turbines are operating efficiently.
2. ENERCON will provide detailed training and guidance to ensure that you can climb our wind turbines safely and efficiently. It is essential that you are physically fit and able to work at height.
3. You will be based within your own geographical area; however, you may be asked to travel for training or to support other areas.
4. Every day is different posing new challenges, you are required to fault find, troubleshoot, and solve complex problems.
5. You will adhere to health and safety requirements and attend training and workshops that are designed to support your safety.
6. You will liaise closely with your in-house technical team and service dispatch coordinator who provide on-the-field support and plan your work schedule.
7. All necessary tools, IT equipment, PPE, and essential parts will be provided along with the use of your team van to travel to sites.
8. At ENERCON, our ambition for every technician is to give you the skills and competence to become highly effective. You may be required to assist in mechanical tasks and will be offered training to become multi-skilled.
9. Once you have completed essential training, you will work with 35KV (high voltage) switching.
The key qualities and experience that we look for:
1. Minimum SVQ / NVQ level 3 qualification in Electrical.
2. Time served apprentice.
3. A passion for Wind Energy and the importance of Health and Safety in the role.
4. Proficient IT skills including Microsoft applications.
5. A proactive, motivated, and resourceful team player.
6. A desire to learn and complete all relevant training and courses.
7. Ability to work to strict deadlines and complete your work to the highest standards.
8. Previous turbine experience is beneficial.
9. A full, valid UK (United Kingdom) driving license.
