Job summary
An exciting opportunity had arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to lead the ESNEFT medical Imaging department in obtaining accreditation for Quality standard in Imaging (QSI). You will be required to have a 'can do' attitude and be able to foster excellent relationships with colleague and other departments. This post is fixed term / secondment until 30th August 2025.
QSI is available to imaging services across the UK both within and outside the NHS. Accreditation is the formal recognition that an imaging service provider has demonstrated that it has an organizational competence to deliver against key performance measures. These measure require the department to achieve high standard of service in relation to patient centred care and choice, safety, fit for-purpose facilities and clinical practices. The standards are endorsed by the Royal college of radiologists and the Society and College of Radiographers.
You will need to inspire the team around them and provide confidence that accreditation process is progressing. This is a cross site role covering both our Colchester & Ipswich Hospital locations and Community Diagnostic Centres where applicable.
Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your current line manager.
Main duties of the job
1. To manage and supervise the accreditation and quality processes in the Diagnostic Imaging services, carrying out the required management and leadership tasks to support the accreditation processes
2. To maintain the service and liaise with UKAS with regards required annual submissions
3. The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and practices of ESNEFT, which the Trust may amend from time to time.

4. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in the workplace

6. Proven experience in a radiology department
7. Experience of working at a senior level within a radiology service.
8. Current experience of managing a complex area of work and leading a multi-disciplinary team.
9. Current experience of staff management in MDT working

11. Involvement with devising and implementing competency frameworks for staff training
12. Experience of investigating DATIX incidents and managing outcomes
Knowledge

13. Knowledge and understanding of Clinical & Radiation Governance relevant to imaging and managing a modality area.
14. Awareness of the legal responsibilities of a radiology service to patients, service users, and staff.
15. Knowledge of current issues within healthcare and radiography.
