Main duties of the job
Your Role
As an IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for NHS staff, providing essential first-line IT support both remotely and face-to-face. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting issues related to desktops, networks, servers, and mobile devices while ensuring excellent customer service via the IT Service Desk. You will work across multiple sites, including Preston and Chorley, and be part of an out-of-hours on-call rota, helping to maintain seamless IT operations within the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide quality IT support
Management and development of the Trust’s IT Services and systems
Troubleshooting problems and supporting the End User Compute and Voice estate
Network support (wired and wireless)
Storage environments
Active Directory management and remediation
VMware and Cloud environment support
Microsoft client and server products
Server/client hardware and IT security
Implement and develop processes across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line teams to improve workflow and knowledge management
Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Demonstrable previous experience in a technical support role
* Detailed knowledge of: MS Office, PC and server hardware & troubleshooting, MS Windows 11, Active Directory
* InTune experience
Desirable criteria
* Experience of Group Policy and Microsoft Config Manager (SCCM)
* Working with Cisco network products. Experience of VMware incl Airwatch MDM
Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
* Degree or similar computing qualification or equivalent proven knowledge in IT & technology fields
* Microsoft Certified Professional certifications or other recognised IT vendor certification
Desirable criteria
* Microsoft Associate qualification (MCA, MCSA, MCSD etc.)
* Cisco CCNA qualification
