We are looking for Specilaist Learning Support Practitioner (LSP)-Horizons to join our team. You will join us on a full-time permanent basis, term-time only, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,887 - £28,344 pa inc London Weighting. Please be advised that the salary is pro rata'd to 36 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. The Specialist LSP-Horizons role: To work under the supervision and guidance of the Lecturer with students with learning difficulties and disabilities. Key Responsibilities of our Specialist LSP-Horizons: To provide one to one support, both direct and indirect, for students with learning difficulties and disabilities following mainstream courses, primarily in the learning environment. To support and provide personal care alongside another member of staff, to ensure that learners can have as much independence in accessing the bathroom with privacy and dignity. To work with the Student Support Advisors and Student Learning Mentors adequate support for students with SEMH needs and to encourage such students to attend the College. To apply appropriate communication methods, suitable to the needs and preferences of the student, to enable access to information, and to facilitate two way communication. To assist in particular arrangements for formal student testing and assessments e.g. invigilating, reading, scribing etc. Our ideal Specialist LSP-Horizons should have the following qualifications, skills and experience: A level 3 or above qualification. (E) Experience of providing effective coaching for students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support success and progression (E) Understanding of academic and vocational education in a College setting. (E) A high level of oral skills, both one to one and in a group setting.
