Knowledge, Training & Experience - The post holder will be responsible for carrying out and supervising the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Trusts plant, equipment and buildings and this role will require significant training and experience in commercial mechanical building services supporting large, complex systems such as heating, hot and cold water, ventilation and air conditioning, passenger lifts and lifting equipment, internal and external drainage, etc. and ideally you will have an understanding and experience of steam operated plant and equipment. You will require a well-developed understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, the majority of which are non-routine, and which require intermediate level theoretical knowledge through formal training to NVQ 4, or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant working experience. As well as the full range of duties associated with the post holder's core skills, i.e., installation, reactive and preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, modifications, calibration, etc., the role often requires specialisation and a multi skilled approach with team members having responsibilities in nominated specialist Estates roles, such as Authorised Person for Water, Ventilation, Work at Height, Confined Space, Pressure Systems, or Medical Gases. This role may also be required for supporting specific projects or tasks, and the coaching, training, or development of others.
