The Role
As a Head of Finance, you’ll be responsible for accounting operations and governance for the Nuclear Services business, ensuring all accounting, finance, and stakeholder policies, requirements, and deadlines are fully met.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure appropriate financial control and governance while supporting the delivery of the external audit and leading the Nuclear Services finance team, focusing on their development and training:
* Take on projects at the request of the Cavendish Finance Director, including supporting the ongoing development of the Cavendish and Nuclear sector finance function.
* Support the Nuclear Services leadership team in enhancing sustainable financial performance, meeting budgets, and driving continuous improvement in managing spend.
* Ensure that cost and income collection processes are adhered to in line with company contract management and financial procedures.
* Prepare and review financial forecasts with appropriate detail to drive action.
* Develop action-focused periodic reporting processes to monitor and challenge the operational businesses to maximize financial performance.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and requires regular travel to Warrington, Leicester, or Bristol, alongside home working arrangements.
Essential Experience:
* Excellent people management and communication skills at all levels.
* Project accounting experience.
* Experience in assessing and utilizing team members' key attributes to create an effective team.
* Experience of working with senior management.
* Ability to deliver a robust business planning and reporting process.
* High degree of commercial acumen.
Qualifications:
* You must hold a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent/similar.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
