The Opportunity: The SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) Electronic Warfare (EW) Specialist will provide authoritative technical leadership and subject matter expertise on all EW aspects of the programme. Based in Riyadh, this role is critical to ensuring EW system development, integration, and performance meet operational requirements and quality standards. The specialist will assess equipment design development, build quality, and testing outputs, while guiding engineering and programme teams through complex EW considerations. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & SME Role: - Act as the lead technical authority on EW systems across the lifecycle of the project. - Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in Electronic Warfare, advising engineering teams, programme leadership, and stakeholders. - Stay abreast of global EW technology developments and threats to inform system design and evolution. - Support the definition of EW operational concepts, requirements, and system capabilities in line with end-user needs and military doctrine. Design Development Assessment: - Evaluate EW system and subsystem designs to ensure alignment with functional, technical, and operational requirements. - Participate in design reviews and architecture definition workshops, offering recommendations to optimise performance and system resilience. - Identify risks, gaps, or shortcomings in the design phase and propose technically sound mitigation measures. Build Quality Oversight: - Review manufacturing, integration, and assembly processes to ensure quality and compliance with specifications and standards. - Conduct technical inspections and build audits, ensuring hardware and components are delivered to required quality benchmarks. - Liaise with suppliers and engineering partners to resolve build-related issues and non-conformances. Testing & Verification: - Support the definition and execution of EW test plans, including factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), field trials, and system validation. - Analyse test data and outputs to confirm system performance, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and compliance with customer and programme requirements. - Provide engineering sign-off or escalation on test results and readiness for operational deployment. Here's What You'll Need: - Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Defence Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the design, development, testing, and fielding of EW systems. - Recognised as a SQEP in the field of Electronic Warfare, with comprehensive knowledge of EW lifecycle management. - Hands-on experience with systems covering electronic support (ES), electronic attack (EA), and electronic protection (EP). - Demonstrable track record supporting military or defence projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. Desirable Skills & Competencies: - Knowledge of signal processing, RF propagation, and threat simulation systems. - Experience working with EW integration on platforms (land/air/naval) and C4ISR environments. - Familiarity with NATO and international EW standards, military test protocols, and system certification. - Strong communication and leadership skills, able to engage stakeholders and influence design decisions. - Proficiency in system engineering tools and processes, including the V-model and requirements traceability. - Previous work experience in the GCC region or with Saudi defence clients is an advantage. Additional Requirements: - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain local and/or international security clearance. - Willingness to be based in Riyadh full-time, with occasional travel within the Kingdom or abroad if needed.
